What this removes
Photos can contain metadata such as GPS coordinates, capture time, camera model, software history, author fields, and thumbnails. This tool decodes the visible pixels and writes a new image, leaving those extra metadata blocks behind.
What changes
JPEG and WebP files are re-encoded at high quality, so the file size and pixel-level encoding can change slightly. PNG remains lossless. Animated images and RAW camera files are not supported.
